olympic torch relay 2008

I remember writing an English essay in my ‘O’ levels about the olympics, and how enthusiastic I was during the process of writing it. How could I, the athlete, not be excited about writing something which represents, at least during that time, my concept of sporting spirit.

Nowadays, the olympic torch relay represents life in a better way than I could have ever thought. The human-made obstacles are part of life, they are real world obstacles and China would never have faked those obstacles. Nevertheless, they appear as misunderstood protesters, probably half of them funded by some organisation who will never see the light, and the other half are those folks who probably did it based on their emotional sway towards media propaganda.

If those folks seriously want to protest, they probably should have go ne to Tibet and live there for a few months at least to find out if the propaganda stands by itself. I, of course, have not been to Tibet myself. And I have been seeing propaganda based on my biased mind. My mind is always biased, no doubt about that. And I want to feel ‘olympic’ about the olympics, since I was who I was and am now who I am.

My biasness says these people are nuts about freedom. Free Tibet? Come on, there are many other places on earth you can go and free first. Let’s see how free you can get.
