Why voting age in Singapore is 21

In case Asia1 dun publish my response. here it is.

This reply is from Head, Corporate Communications is a typical government-like response. I must as well use a programmed computer for these answers and just tag a ‘responsibility contact’ at the end of it.

I am turning 33 in a few days and I have not voted before. The reason. walkover due to GRC stretched from Marine Parade GRC to where I used to live with my parents. Serangoon. Isn’t this ridiculous?

I’m not saying that Singapore is not a nice place and I want to vote the current government out or what. But given those that face the same situation as I do, I guess, might be a significant portion of the population, (the government or election committee probably very well know from the statistics) . And if this is the case, the voting is not, in any way, representative of the entire population.

If that is the case, why treat the voting seriously as the programmed computer message described?
